NDIS provides support on performing daily tasks such as arranging meals, personal hygiene, home maintenance, help acquire renting a space for short-term use, and utilisation of transport system. 3. Improved Living Arrangements

To be able to live their lives with ease and independently, various training courses and therapies will be provided to the participants to improve and develop essential skills that they can use in their daily lives. Each participant's training and therapy depends on their ability to learn, skills that need improvement, and goals in life.
6. Improved Life Choices
Since individuals with disabilities will have difficulty due to their cognitive, physical, and emotional condition, the NDIS will assist the participants by teaching skills related to task management, finances, making contact with providers, and acquiring essential supports catered by the NDIS.
7. Improved Relationships
To achieve overall wellness, looking after the social relationship of the participants is necessary. Therefore, NDIS will provide support to undergo essential family counselling, behavioural therapy, and social development programs.
8. Transport
Under the transport service category, participants who are having difficulties using public transportation due to their disability will be provided with transport assistance to make travelling convenient and comfortable.
9. Consumables
NDIS understand that individuals with disability will constantly need essential products to make their daily lives easier. That’s why consumables will be provided to the participants to cover the cost of nutritious products and continence aids.
10. Assistive Technology
To provide more comfort in the participant's life, the NDIS also offers assistive technology such as mobility tools, communication aids, and other adaptive and rehabilitative tools that can help the participants perform various tasks.
11. Home Modifications
Since individuals with disabilities will have difficulties manoeuvring with their daily lives, NDIS will provide home modification to the participants' residence to make it safe, comfortable, and suited to the needs and conditions of the participants. Necessary changes will be made on the participant’s residence such as installing ramps, chair lifts, bathroom rails, or free-standing showers.
12. Assistance with Social & Community Participation
NDIS will also assist the participants to access community events and activities to encourage them to socialise and participate in events that can help improve their social relationships.
13. Increased Social and Community Participation
To help the participants improve their social and community participation, the NDIS has designed some of their programs via recreational activities to increase the chances of socialisation and community participation by interacting with new individuals.
14. Coordination of Supports
To make it more convenient for the participants and their carers, NDIS will assist in connecting to the nearest registered NDIS service provider in their area and health experts to ensure that the administered treatment plan will be based on the participant's demands.
15. Finding and Keeping a Job
Other than the purpose of the NDIS to help individuals with disabilities overcome the difficulties they are facing, NDIS will also assist in finding and keeping a job to be able to live a stable life. NDIS will fund the participants to build their resumes, prepare and assist them in their workplace, and provide community referrals.
Individuals Eligible for NDIS Funding
With all the services and support provided by the NDIS, the citizens and residents of Canberra who have a permanent or significant disability may apply for NDIS funding. However, to be granted the NDIS support, the eligibility requirements must be met which are:
Age between 7 and 65 years old
Residents and citizens of Australia
Permanent visa holders
