Helena
As a new Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and former Disability Support Worker, I bring a strong foundation in behaviour support, early childhood education, and disability care to empower children and individuals with diverse needs. With a Bachelor of Social Work and two years of Early Childhood Education teaching studies, I am passionate about using evidence-based, client-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches to foster independence, inclusion, and meaningful outcomes for NDIS clients.
During my final Social Work placement in Behaviour Support and Therapy, I worked with NDIS individuals aged from 5-65 diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, intellectual and physical disabilities, and mental health conditions, contributing to the development of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) in alignment with NDIS guidelines and the PBS Framework. I applied Marte Meo Therapy, Play Therapy, and early intervention strategies to support behavioural and emotional regulation in children, teenagers and adults.
With three years of experience as a Disability Support Worker, I have provided individualised care to children with disabilities, assisting with daily living, social engagement, and skill development. My background in early childhood education enhances my ability to implement developmentally appropriate interventions, learning strategies, and play-based therapies that support children’s growth.
I am committed to person-centred practice, stakeholder collaboration, and advocacy to ensure that individuals and families receive holistic and high-quality support. I thrive in multidisciplinary environments and am eager to contribute my expertise to a team that values inclusion, empowerment, and positive change.
